Day 1 Lima - Caral

Pick up from the Hotel. We leave from Lima very early, we take the highway Pan-American north road until arriving to the Km. 182 (3 hours). Then we enter for a trail in a road where we will cross canals, little rivers, plantations characteristic of the place, accompanied by the flora and typical fauna of the place (turtupilines in abundance). We will also have the opportunity in this on the way to observe the irrigation channels in the desert areas, areas of beans cultivation, sugar cane, corn, yuca in the interaction with the communities of the place. This whole road is crossing the lateral riverbanks of the river Supe (Approx. 1.45min.). Arrival to the city of Caral. Guided tour inside the city. We will be able to appreciate the macroscopic images of the place, then accompanied by an archaeologist we will visit the different constructions : 6 monumental pyramids, in two of those we can realize the architectural distribution of the first Peruvian civilization and of America. These constructions have an amphitheater, vents of offerings in form to circulate, central squares, residential areas and religious centers. this city dates of 5000 years of antiquity and it is located chronologically parallel to the constructions of the Egipt pyramids. Thanks to the discovery of the archaeological city of Caral we have a new chronological vision of the cities in America and the world. Day 2 Barranca -Casma - Trujillo
Drive from Barranca to the fortress Chanquillo, oldest sun calendar in America (aprox. 300 B.C.). Continue to Sechin. The ceremonial temple Sechn is older than Chavin (aprox. 1200 B.C.) and the outside fassade shows warriors, prisoners and sacrifices. One of Peru oldest cultures.Continue drive to Trujillo (370 day-kms).

Day 3 Trujillo

Walking city tour in colonial Trujillo, drive to the sun & moon temple in the Moche valley. This impressive temple is decorated with relieves and wall paintings of the Moche (50-750 AD.). Lunch at the fisher village Huanchaco. Fishermen show with their Caballitos de totora (reed boats). In the afternoon visit to Chan-Chan, largest adobe built city in the word and once capitol of the Chimu empire (1100 - 1470 AD). Overnight Hotel in Trujillo

Day 4 Trujillo Cajamarca
Visit to the archaeological complex El Brujo, located on the pacific coast. In 2006 the Seora de Cao was found in the temple Cao. For the first time in history a Moche mummy was rescued. The recently opened Museo Cao shows all findings of the complex. Leaving the coast towards the highlands to reach the last Inca city Cajamarca 2.750m (330kms).

Day 5 Cajamarca - Cumbemayo
Journey to the rock forest of Cumbe Mayo. It translates Fine River and is a Pre-Inca Channel tailored in the rocks by ancient hydraulic engineers more than 1500 years ago. Afterwards visit to the necropolis Otuzco, a secondary cemetery tailored in volcanic rock and used for over 1200 years. In the afternoon city tour in Cajamarca, to see the cathedral, the San Francisco church, the Apolonia hill and the famous rescue room which the Incas filled with gold and silver to liberate their leader Atahualpa (60 day/km)

Day 6 Cajamarca Leymebamba
Drive over the Andes. The mayor part on affirmed tracks, over the picturesque town of Celendin, incredible landscapes, the village Balsas where we cross the Maraon River and the Chachapoyas kingdom starts. In the village Leymebamba overnight in a basic Hostel, but with all commodities. (330 km

Day 7 Leymebamba- Laguna de los Cndores TREK
Early morning leaving with horses and mules and by foot over mountains, jungle, streams and passes (3800 m.a.s.l.) towards the condor lake (2700 m.a.s.l). After 10 hours we will reach the cabin to rest and have dinner while the camp will be set up. On the way you will have your lunch box and watch beautiful sceneries.

Day 8 Laguna de los Cndores TREK
After having a good night rest you will take a hike to the mausoleums where the 219 momies were found and rescued in 1998. You also will visit the ruins of Llactacocha village closed to the lake and maybe catch some trout for additional dinner.

Day 9 Laguna de los Cndores TREK Leymebamba
Return to Leymebamba (aprox.8 hours).

Day 10 Leymebamba - Revash Chillo
Visit to the mummy museum of Leymebamba (Centro Mallqui) with the findings of the Condor Lake Laguna de los Cndores. Exhibition of the 203 mummies, which were rescued by an Austrian expedition in 2001. Afterwards excursions (by feet, mule or horse) to Revash, a mausoleum build in a mountain cliff with red and white painted funeral houses of the Chachapoyas around 1100 A.C.

Day 11 Kulap - Chachapoyas
72 km southwest of Chachapoyas is located Kulap, the holy fortified city of the Chachapoyas (cloud warriors). The city is build on a mountain platform on an altitude of 3000 m ( 9000 ft) and its containment walls reach 20 meters of height. More than 500 circle stone houses, distributed in 3 levels, were built during 1000 years by the Chachapoyas. Some of them are decorated with typical chachapoyas motives like routes or zigzag. Kulap was discovered 166 years ago, long before Machu Picchu, but yet liberated from the jungle a couple of decades ago. The Chachapoyas (cloud warriors) were for a long time a thorn in the eye of the Incas, which have tried more than once to conquer and integrate them in the Tahuantinsuyo.

Day 12 Chachapoyas Gocta Jan
Journey to San Pablo de Valera, a little village around 33 km of the city Chachapoyas, where the excursion to GOCTA starts; the third highest waterfall in the world. (By foot, mule or horse).This waterfall was measured and marketed by the German Stefan Ziemendorff in the year 2006. On the way, incredible flora and fauna can be observed, with endemic species of birds and mammals like the yellow tailed woolen monkey. Also the cock of the rock and the marvelous humming bird are part of the environment. After lunch in the village continuous drive to Jaen for overnight. (170 daykms)

Day 13 Jan Tcume Chiclayo
Drive to Tcume, the valley of the 26 pyramids built by the Lambayeque culture more than 900 years ago. 3 cultures occupied the pyramids during 432 years: The Lambayeque (1100 - 1370 A. C.), the Chimu (1370 1470 A.C.) and the Incas (1470 - 1532 A.C). Between 1989 and 1994, Thor Heyerdahl started the Tcume Archaeological Project, based on a convention between the Kontiki Museum of Oslo and the National Institute of culture in Peru. After lunch visit at the National Museum Sicn where all kind of artifacts ( gold, silver, copper and ceramics) which were found in the excavations in the Huacas El Oro and Ventanas of the Pomac Forest can be observed. Day 14 Chiclayo LIMA
Visit to Ventarrn, a 5000 year old temple, with the oldest wall painting of America. Continue to Huaca Rajada archaeological complex of Sipn, where the Archaeologist Walter Alva rescued in 1987 the richest tomb in the world after Tutanchamon. In 2007, 20 years later, a new tomb was excavated by Alva. All artifacts of the warrior high priest are now exhibited in the new site Museum of Sipn. After lunch visit to the most modern and best Museum of America, the Tumbas Reales de Sipn, where the treasures of the Lord are exhibited. In the afternoon transfer to the airport for flight to Lima.
